The bad false positive
« on: December 04, 2009, 02:17:20 AM »
Last night, with this unhappy joke, I have to uninstall the following apps:
1 - EMSI SOFTWARE a-squared free
2 - Spybot-Search & Destroy
3 - KMPlayer
4 - Auslogics BoostSpeed
5 - ConvertXtoDVD
6 - JonDo Anonymyzer
7 - JonDoFox
8 - HP Image Zone and so on...
What I have to say is Avast looks like a crazy app because, for it, everything was a dangerous trojan. :o
For me, last night, was a nightmare so, I close my Net connection, uninstall avast and reinstall all the other apps.
This is not funny at all, for me, avast nevermore. Now, I have Avira free Home Edition. ;D

If you had updted avast! to the latest definition file 091203-1 you would not have had that problem.

Avira has had its share of fales positives lately.

Sure, avast! had a serious bug in a database update that affected a lot of users.  They fixed the problem, apologized, and are taking steps to remedy the potential problem.  If you are satisfied with the steps, think about using Avast! again.  Otherwise use Avira or some other AV until that program has their next serious problem, then try again.
