avast! for x86_64
« on: December 27, 2009, 09:01:09 AM »
Hi,

I just wanted to install avast! on Arch Linux and unfortunately found out that there's only an i686 but no native x86_64 version.
When will a native x86_64 version be released? I'd really like to use avast! but I don't like to change my Linux installation to a multilib system.

Hallo,
this is no problem - just force the installation. On systems where the CONFIG_IA32_EMULATION=yes in kernel was set (nearly all of 64bit ones), and where IA323 libs are available (IA32 compatibility package was installed), it works with no problem.
