Avast internet security

Hi all im new to this site, iv used avast for years (the home ) i decided to upgrade to internet security and paid for a lic all is ok but since the upgrade i cant start the firewall at all why is this i hope someone can help please ASAP

does avast repair and a restart help?

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow
