can avast scan more of my hard drive in safe mode?, or any scanner for that instance.

Safe-mode loads minimal set of drivers so on some program files avast will have access that it may not otherwise have.It might run faster too ;D

Max, I'm not so sure. If you're talking about cleaning and repairing a file, ok...
Maybe the on-demand scanning too...

But, detection should be the same... On contrary, we will be in danger because the virus would infect the system in normal operation because on-access wouldn't detect the virus.

Speed of scanning, ok, safe-mode could be fast!  8)

Yes I was refering to cleaning so avast doesn't give the
"Access Denied"message.

ok, thanks for that guys.

P.S. god im happy i tryied avast now, this was just going to be temporary untill i got norton or something, and avast came highly recomended from www.download.com so i tryied it, and im so happy with the support and program that i have decided to stay and get the pro version sometime.
