I see that the wishlist has been building up.

When will this version be out?

jdong,

I have not heard anything on when the "new version" of Avast will be released.
The most current build is 4.0.229/June 03 which incorporated many of the suggestions, and bug fixes.

We're both waiting on the Avast 5

 ;D

It's going to take some more time (especially now it's holidays time ;))

But it's almost ready - we'll roll a beta-testing program soon.

Among the things in the wishlist, it's going to contain a special resident provider for P2P programs (Kazaa, WinMX, DirectConnect etc).

But no script blocker for Opera, sorry. It just doesn't seem to be technically feasible.

What's up with Opera?
The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,
T'was the witch of November come stealing.

Well i will miss the fact it won't include a scriptchecker 4 opera, but i do hope it will include full MBR protection, with maybe also the option 2 restore saved MBR's ;D

But i do know it will be a world class AV program when all the bugs are ironed out.I do hope U will be announcing a signup 4 the beta test :)I also welcome the P2P scanner 2 as a kazaalite user.I don't even download exe files on it after constant alerts on NAV & now Avast & if the little kazaa crash fix can be included then even better ;D

Eagerly awaitin further news :D

The kazaa crash workaround has already been released in the last update (though it's not completely clear yet whether it's not causing some other problems  :-\) - you can try yourself if kazaa works now...

Strange... are you sure you're running the latest build (i.e. at least 229) of avast? Before doing the changes, we tried kazaa lite and it crashed. After the changes have been done, kazaa started without any problems... I'm not sure about the exact version, I can try to test with 210e (if I can download somewhere), but I don't think there will be any difference.

What OS exactly are you using?

No problem, nice to hear it works  :)
What's I'm still wondering about is why it didn't work with the older version of kazaa. I was rather busy so I didn't check out yet - so the problematic version was klitekpp210e.exe, right?

Yep thats the version i was usin igor, i liked it cause it had the little options at the bottom that automated some things :)

I got the latest version from the kazaalite site just 2 see if it was the version i was usin & it looks like it was as the newer version has no probs loadin when Avast is runnin

Cheers
