I wouldn't take ad-aware, free or otherwise, whilst it will run with avast, I feel it is yesterdays anti-spyware and there are much better anti-spyware/malware solutions, that also work with avast.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Ad-aware is fine running with avast.

But ad-aware's poor detection rates compared to malwarebytes and the others makes ad-aware not a good choice.
DESKTOP: Win 10, Avast 20 Free, Windows firewall, Malwarebytes free

LAPTOP: Win 10, Windows Defender, Malwarebytes free, Windows Firewall, Mcshield

Decided not to install it after realizing its not as good as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware  or Superantispyware I already have for on-demand
and with those two and Avast! and Winpatrol Plus that's good enough!!

Better not to use along with Avast. This version of Ad-Aware has Antivirus inbuilt (Vipre Engine) and will certainly conflict with Avast.
Anyone who knows how to loose can certainly learn how to win.
