Welcome bmwm392

Please read why it is not advisable to run two anti virus applications:

You can run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) with avast!:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Download it then after the install check for updated definitions then run a Quick scan and have it remove whatever it finds and post its log here if you like.

Surely it will unless one is an on-demand AV (but chances still exist on on demand AVs).

Surely it will. Two antiviruses would have to scan your system doubling the running background processes.

Yes, especially on detections. Some AV detect other AV's quarantine. Worse is when two AV detect an infected file simultaneously, both would try to put an action on a single file causing conflicts later on, system instability.

if you have two resident AV then it will slow your system,

but if you have on demand and resident that do not conflict in the process then it will be ok.

Regards!!!

You know, Some one told me, if you want to make your PC high protection, you must install two Anti v in your PC. " Two Anti v + one PC= High PC" ;D

But, now every thing is undercontro..... :D

Thank you.

I believe in system Layered Protection with several security applications.

An up to date anti virus application:  avast!
An up to date anti malware application like Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)

Up to date HOSTS file that prevents access to known malware sites with hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS file managed with HostsMan.
A system Security monitor that watches over them that WinPatrol provides.

See my signature for what I use.

When you get to 20 posts you will be able to go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then Signature: and put information about your system just like my signature about your system just like my signature so that the helpers can offer pertinent advice.

There is also Cloud Based Anti Virus like Immunet Protect which can be run in conjunction
with avast! and not degrade your system to any extent.  :)
