i have just reformatted and reinstalled xp on my other pc     i have firewalled will that be safe enough for me to come back on here and download avast again or can i save it to a disk?  and also service packs can i save those to a disk and ionstall the 2 that way?

service packs can you download on your PC
And a firewall is not good enough.You must download an Antivirus program
and that must you save to disk

A firewall is enough if you know how to set your security settings.
An antivirus is needed if you are planning to download any other files from the Internet.
