Unable to register license for Free ver

Hi

My license had expired yesterday so i updated to ver 5, however despite registering -which goes through ok- the program still keeps saying i need to register. The register screen says my license expires 11/04/2011 yet it still says at the top 'registration expired'.

I've tried online registration, email license string and uninstalling and re installing.

I'm running on windows XP.

Help please as i love using Avast.

check your computer time / day / mnd / year. adjust and restart if wrong

Try avast repair

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

Big thanks Pondus.

Really strange that, since the Avast update i'd been getting lots of wiered things happening including the licensing prob. As suggested, i checked the date and everything was right except the year -2018? Set to normal and everything's running a dream. Wonder how that got changed.

Anyway, all done and working a treat, so thanks again Pondus
