Help !!!!! please aspparantely have a virus worm.........

I have a question .. seeing as i had wrote that i had removed limewire..
i got a respons from pondus where it stated (what i comprehended) then:
that you all do not support customers that use a p2p site...
is this so??? My daughter is a basically a background singer occasionally
front singer .. where she has to listen to music throughoout the day to learn her harmonics..
so she needs to download onto her usb stick.. because she is still a student and is also on internship
whereas she needs the entire day to listen and practise when she has a break.. she is so happy
with limewire.. but maybe there is another site better that you know about or...
maybe i should use it through a torrent?? i have't dare to look for a torrent since i have vista..
and the 1 i knew quit..
also i would like to ask your opinion if i should install the latest avast 5.. i've read reviews here and am
slightly afraid that i will not do it correctly or even configure properly...
If you could give me advice on these 2 questions please  .. essexboy...

P2P is inherently within itself safe, the problem is the files that are downloaded.  If you scan each file downloaded before running then in the majority of cases you will be safe

With Avast you just need to ensure that all shields are active - which is the default settings

Or better, upload to VirusTotal and have the file(s) scanned by 40 viruscanners before running  www.virustotal.com

That looks like a good choice..
but not being so technical how would i go about uploading to virustotal...
I have to explain to my daughter...lol ....

• Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
  
• Copy and paste the following file path into  the  "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:
  
  
  • file to be checked
    
• Click on the Upload button
  
• If a pop-up appears saying the file has been scanned already, please select the ReScan button.
  
• Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
  

That will then tell you whether any of the AV's used has detected anything iffy

It is a risk, lots of Dedicated Malware removal sites won't even help you if you have a P2P program installed, as you would have read by links I posted from malwareremoval.com. Sure scan a file, see if it's safe, but what I get annoyed about is someone has gone to a lotta work to produce material such as software, music, and they need to be paid for their efforts. So I have to strongly disagree with using Limewire. It'll bite you on the Bum oneday
