Well, really sorry
for the misunderstanding : I MANUALLY authorized ashdisp.exe to gain access to the web, because I checked the link in Delta's reply#1, which led me to Techie101's reply#1 to zk, in which he defines the 3 programs that must be granted access. As I saw that only ashmaisv.exe and avastsetup were set so in ZA ( version 4.5.594, should'nt it work with this one ? ), I thought I had made a mistake somewhere... I also checked the avast.INI file and I noticed it was a bit different from what was indicated : instead of having AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds=30 after AssumeAlwaysConnected=1,I have[Quick]
EnableSkins=1 (although it is set on =0 after RespondTimeout=30
)
InfectionExitApp=1
ShowResults=1
and I can't seem to be able to find AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds=30 anywhere in the whole file.
Well, I resolved to update avast manually as it made my currently running program ( a game ) crash when it notified the error. I'm so glad this is not a virus , anyway ! Thank you everyone for your kind help and concern, I really do appreciate.
I'll try to get some further information if I can.
....Oh, by the way, my ZA level is set to high and in the " connexions ( french word, is the english the same ? )" area in XP, there are 2 parts : 1.Distant Access ( mine is with Wanadoo and an ADSL modem ) and 2.Local Network ( LAN ? ) and Internet High-Speed Connection . There is there a Via Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter, which program I put in the secure section of ZA. But its IP is 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, which means it doesn't work, does it? I don't have a LAN connection, if it is what I think it is ( enterprise or domestic network ). And it seems to me the problems definitely started a little time after installing ZA v.4.5.954... But if the server is down for avast, would this mean that ZA makes it "mistake" the part1 for the part2 ( even though the update addresses in the .INI file are allright ) or is this a VERY stupid question ?
