try checking that the plugin is not disabled. go to Tools > Trust center > Add-ins and check whether avast antispam toolbar is listed (active / inactive / disabled ?) if it is disabled then select the disabled items dropdown and click "go". Er-enable the plugin and restart outlook. let me know how you were getting on...
Wow that did the trick! It was listed as a plugin that caused Outlook to not function correctly.Your help is much appreciated!
