Updating offline systems
« on: July 03, 2003, 11:43:07 PM »
First of all, thank you very much for offering this great AV free for home users. I am running avast to protect one computer, which has no internet access. Downloading & installing the virus database updates works great. By trial I found out that the full setup detects present installs of Avast and suggests to update them.
On a first try, this seems to work flawlessly. Has anybody more experience with this? Would it be safer to uninstall and then install a newer version than going through an update?

Thanks for your opinions.

Running setup on computer with already installed avast makes it run in update mode. So there's no need to do uninstall/install cycle.
