Avast Wont Update - Wont Install - (Includes Log Files) *edited*

*Edit* before anyone tells me to try previously mentioned fixes, I read through the forums, tried the removal tools, and all the other suggested fixes to resolve the problems of not being able to update. Now the problem is I can't even install it now.


I recently installed Avast 5 Free on my Windows 7 x64 computer. The initial install went fine but the program would not update the virus definitions nor will it update the program itself. The error message for both of those is "Invalid Signature File".

So I uninstalled it, cleared all evidence of it from the system, RE-downloaded the program and tried to install it. Now it won't install on this or any other computer I own. I get the same error log on all the computers I have tried to install AV5 on. Below is the portion of the log in which the errors upon install begin. Your OS is Win7 (64-bit).

A. What other security software do you have on this machine currently and previously including firewall (FW)?

B. What Avast product are you trying to download (AIS, Pro, Free)?  What version were you downloading?  Version 5.0.594 is the latest version.

C. How do you connect to the Internet (cable, DSL, proxy, etc.)?

D. Where you using this procedure for uninstalling and doing a clean install:

1. Save a copy of newest version of Avast (5.0.594) for the version you need and save it to your HDD:

Pro  –  http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro.exe
AIS  –  http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_ais.exe
2. Download the Avast Uninstall Utility, aswClear5.exe http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility and save it to your HDD (it has uninstall tools for both 4.0 and 5.0).
3. Disconnect from the Internet at this time.
4. Uninstall Avast through "Add/Remove Programs" through Control Panel. 
5. Boot into Safe Mode (hit F8 repeatedly) and run the Avast Uninstall Tool.
6. Reboot twice.
7. Clean your computer up (clean up cache, temporary Internet files, etc.).
8. Install the newest version of Avast and reboot.
9. Get Internet access and update Avast definitions.
10. Register your copy or add the license key for Free, Pro or AIS.
