I'm using Avast Pro 5.0.594 on Windows 7, file system shield enabled, code emulation selected.

When I use Control Panel-->Programs and Features in order to uninstall a program, I get multiple instances (usually 3) of sf.bin running along with AvastSvc.exe, which together eat up 100% CPU. That's just by opening the Programs and Features panel (which used to be called Add/Remove programs in XP), nothing else. If I disable Avast shields before I open Programs and Features, it responds in an instant, and uninstalling is quick. If Avast shields are enabled, Programs and Features takes forever to do its search for programs to uninstall, and actually trying to uninstall one takes forever.

I've read these threads: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=50483.0 and http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=50510.0 , which mention code emulation in the file system shield being a problem in some circumstances, and claiming a fix in 5.0.221.

If I switch off code emulation but keep the file system shield running, I get the same behaviour, only this time sf.bin doesn't run and it is only AvastSvc.exe eating up close to 100% CPU. The system does not slow down for as long as with the code emulation running, but still locks up for about 20 seconds. If I switch off file system shield completely, response time is instantaneous.

Anyone else experiencing this? It's annoying for me because I have to uninstall programs frequently.
