Rejected emails
« on: July 31, 2004, 07:55:59 PM »
 >:(I've just recently gone to 2-way cable. On my 56k connection I had no trouble emailing any of my contacts. Now, I get messages kicked back to me by certain recipients. here's the text from OE:
"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '*****@comcast.net'. Subject 'email', Account: 'mail.losch.net', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79".

I can't figure out if this is caused by avast! or my cable connection ???

A quick search of Google shows that this error message may well have more to do with your new internet connection rather than Avast. I recommend you ask for help from your isp.

Are you using Comcast? if you are, how did you set this up or change from the old to the new?

missing,

This problem lies with your ISP provider.  You must contact them and have them grant access to your email addresses.

Some ISPs block certain email recipients because of a history of complaints.  Some do not allow international email.

I am sure that once you call them, they willl straighten it out.

Good luck

If you change the ISP, please check with them if you do not have to change your smtp authentication settings. Some ISP requires a different authetication while using an antivirus, for instance: #smtp_server_name is the default but some ISP requires: user_name#smtp_server_name and so on...

Neither of them. I think like I wrote is a trouble into your email account setting (check your email program). Of course, I suppose you can send emails to that user with webmail or another computer...  ::)
