Had to check that and no, still no apparent scanning - but I do not install a great deal of unknown programmes

It's not there only for installations... but executable running also.
If nothing is scanned, it's not working at all.

behavior shield has never scanned anything on 64 bit Windows, not that it can't, but there are no rule set implemented for 64bit OS in the BS; this said, you can still activate it, the module will still run ;D

Hi guys,
I usually test the pre-release versions, as they arrive...
But as I read of problems with XP, I will wait this time. ;)
Or is this already solved..??

I'll certainly welcome the speed improvements in the Updater. :)
Right now my morning Update takes between 15 and 20 minutes.

The 2nd Update of the day ... I think I've only seen that one finish like twice.  The 2nd Update of the day seems to be less conspicuous.  I guess it doesn't seem to hog the Hard Drive activity like the morning Updates.

David, are you saying just the PROGRAM Update is 55 Meg?  :o
Or are you referring to downloading the entire Beta version of the Pre-Release?
Either way, I'll wait until the official release.

To test the beta, you need to download it all (55Mb).

Downloaded, installed it, running smooth.
No noticeable problems on a Win7 x64 PC.

No I'm not.
To get the pre-release version you have to download the complete installation file 55.01MB (so that certainly isn't going to happen for me), as you simply can't update to the pre-release version.

As and when it is released as a regular program update it will/should just update the changed elements as for other regular program updates, so it shouldn't be a full reinstall requirement.

My concern would be if using the pre-release version if there was any problem with the update to the regular version I may have do an install from scratch if there was any problem.

You are reading way too much into two lines in my post

<snip>
I would love to participate in the pre-release version but at 55.01MB it is a bit much on dial-up (220 minutes), especially if there is any likelihood/possibility of having to repeat the exercise when the regular release comes out.

Ah, I see. Still this would be much too long, imo.
