5.0.668 Full system scan stuck on ACPI.sys
« on: September 01, 2010, 09:16:24 PM »
Using the free version (5.0.668)

Win7 64bit

Full scan is stuck on ACPI.sys, but the time is still counting...

Should I just stop it?

Only other security software is winpatrol.

Ok, I thought it may be related...

Do you need me to do anything (create a dump file?)

Not at the moment... I don't think the dump would reveal anything new.
I know what file it freezes on (in the other thread), but I don't know why the hell Windows shows that dialog, if I specifically used the flag saying "don't".

I'm not sure it's possible... there's an (invisible) window opened somewhere, waiting to be closed.
Well, you can stop it by clicking the Stop button, but it will probably stay somewhere on background, until the computer (or avast! service at least) is restarted.

Btw, do you also have the "Browser choice" shortcut somewhere on the desktop?

Ok, I stopped it...

Yes, the 'Browser Choice' thing is there...
