About a Windows 7 tablet PC (may be moved to correct thread)
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:51:07 PM »
:( Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but.. I am planning on purchasing a Windows 7 tablet in the VERY near future. I was just curious if there is a smaller or lite version of AVAST for slower computers (Windows XP & Up)? This device is similar to an Ipad BUT it has better specs than a netbook and runs a full version of Windows 7 professional- But, I would like to keep my resource usage as SMALL as possible. Any help or points to the right area of support/thread - PLEASE let me know I will ONLY want to use AVAST with this and the full version that I use on my desktop would work but, I would like it to have a smaller footprint, ya dig?
Thanks,
 Mel

If it has the hardware to run Win7 pro, you should have no problems with the latest Avast!

It is one of the lightest on-access AV's out there, even moreso on Win7.

jomey

Like what the other comment said, I do not see a problem with your windows tablet running avast considering that it is running windows 7 as compared to others just on xp and with relatively weaker specs.  I must agree that even with its capacity, avast has been pretty light weight and does not consume too much memory.
