Chrome & IE9?
« on: October 13, 2010, 03:54:47 AM »
Hi there,

Is it possible to add a top menu bar on Chrome & IE9 like the one in IE8?

How do you rate IE9 vs. Chrome for Vista32 bit?

Regards!

Iknow that with ie9 you just right click the top border and then tick command bar.

Probably the same for chrome, not sure, just experiment with it. You can install chrome as well and see what you like better for yourself  :)

Thanks craigb...I did it by adding a reg key...HKC>Softwares>Policies>Microsoft>NewKey>AlwaysShowMenus.....it works, now have a menu bar like IE8. :)

I installed Chrome on Vista 32 bit & I like it even better than IE9. Shall try adding the same value to regedit may be it works for Chrome too? :-\

Could you care to have a look at the back ground processes of Vista & recommend which I can turn off safely & its Hijack log...since they are big attachments where could I upload them?  :)

Sorry for the inconvenience. :-X

Best Regards!

It will not works. Google in it's source code has no classic menu bar, as it don't need!

IE-9 Yes, Chrome no. I've not used this, but you may take a look: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/ie9-tweaker-lets-you-tweak-internet-explorer-9-and-create-a-custom-home-page

How do you rate IE9 vs. Chrome for Vista32 bit?

For me, IE-9 has not been stable, failed to load some CSS it could load before, it's not that much faster as it's promised, also Tabs and address bar is not arranged well for normal laptop or netbook users. IE-9 new featurs like Pin to taskbar web sites is not stable and crash often.
Google Chrome is doing all I expect and all I need. Fast and Stable. to compare to IE-9, Chrome is faster and more stable, I see no reason to move to IE-9 because I've not felt lack of even one thing. also I believe after release of next IE-9 update, Google will release another update to don't behind Microsoft. (Yes, I'm in Love with Google ;D )

For their Security, I could not infect my computer using Google Chrome with their default plugins easily but I could with IE-9, I could infect my computer after many more try using Google, using Flash Player I could infect my system when using Chrome.
Honestly I cannot compare them, IE-9 has nothing over Google Chrome to bring!

The only thing that I use IE is preview web pages when working on a new web site, which sure I will keep IE-9 to test pages in IE-9 too

You are welcome.

It's better you don't share System Information log. a HijackThis log usually is fine. System Information log contain some of your personal info too.

So seems I had no luck!  :(
