Ms Updates for XP. Avast Problem?
« on: October 16, 2010, 01:14:23 PM »
Any thoughts on this one, please?

All fourteen of this weeks updates for XP have installed successfully according to "Check Your Update History", but in Event Viewer I have ten Error ESENT 439 warnings, apparently due to `file in use` being inaccessible.

Ms suggests this may be due to AV scanning but having used the "Do not switch off your computer. It will switch off automatically" method of update installation, that seems unlikely.

I don`t understand this at all, especially when the installation appears to have been successful.
