[Resolved] Avast Heuristics Warning (file *.cmd)
« on: November 17, 2010, 08:25:48 PM »
Hello

I have problem with avast! Free Antivirus v5.
I sent email from my mail account with attachment (file with extension *.cmd). Mail was sent to recipient and copied to my "Sent folder" in Thunderbird. But now my mail in Sent folder has subject "[avast! heuristic - WARNING]" and in body:
[Content-Type doesn't correspond with attachment's extension
 * test.cmd - text/plain

Even I disable avast's shields content of my mail isn't displayed.
Can I somehow display body of my mail in Thunderbird?

PS. If I open my message in web interface I see a content of my mail.

Best regards
David

See attached. You can check the "Name/extension only" box. Or if that doesn't allow you to view it uncheck the "Attachment check" box. I wouldn't recommend it though because you would be reducing Avast's protection. If it was something that happens daily then maybe so. If it is something that happens every once in a while then why reduce the protection? Appears like Avast! did its job by informing you of a potentially harmful file. Avast may have blocked it from being downloaded so you may have to resync or resend your email after doing this.
