Avast5 shutdown the PC
« on: December 07, 2010, 12:07:39 AM »
I bought the Avast5 and installed on the PC, but the computer started to hang frequently. I uninstalled Avast and returned to work correctly. Can anyone tell how to use Avast without shutdown the computer.

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

What is your OS ?

What other security based software do you have installed ?
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Hey and Welcome JorgeGustavo!

Tip: Have only one AV with realtime protection/scanner active and one firewall active. For additional protection and improved detection, download Malwarebytes and superantispyware. If you download a file that you don't know of use google; it will be a big help to prevent you from installing a malware. As long as you have the malware download and not active your PC won't get damaged, unless is a self-executive file.
