I installed the latest Firefox two days ago after 10 minutes surfing with it Avast gave a warning on a java script virus in the FF folder. Luckily I do not have Java on my system, nor FF now - I think I will stick with IE9
I can't be faffed to add things to my browser - I like it to work straight out of the box It was found during a screensaver scan - so I just killed it
For me that is currently Firefox

Chrome in the first place Opera is the second.
I have been using IE for a long long long time and IE8 now on both Computers and to date have never been exploited. Mainly due to responsible browsing and a solid layered security configurationTouch wood.
