I am in the process of changing email address and having problem with sending mail from new account in Thunderbird.  I am trying to set up thunderbirdd mail through google.  I can receive mail but not send.  Are there some specific things that I need to do when using google?  Is there an issue between googlemail and Avast?  Need some help please.  Thank you.

Attached are the smtp settings for Thunderbird and gmail and also the mail shield/expert settings/ssl accounts settings that work for most users.  Nothing special except all unencrypted at TB, 587 usually works better than 25.  Let us know if these don't work for you.

Some ISPs and WIFI access points block port 25.
