Client msi failed to install
« on: January 25, 2011, 04:23:35 PM »
Hi there,

I am trying to install the avast client on a users machine, but when I run the .msi installer I get a "Please wait while Windows configures avast! Antivirus message" which instantly disappears and then nothing else happens. There is no silent in install or no processes running in the background. Can anyone advise how I can get this working?

Many thanks

Anthony.

Try to generate your MSI second time...
Otherwise deploy your managed clients via installation task in ADNM console. I tried MSI deployment some months ago, it works, but I preferr installation task.

Thanks Paba, I have tired both and still no luck. The new msi file did exactly the same thing and deploying the software via deployment tasks ran and then was instantly showing as complete in the logs - but still no software installed on the users machine. Any other ideas?

Many thanks!!

See setup.log on target machine (if any?) when deployment task finished. Are there any errors? You can find it in  C:\Program Files\Avast4\Setup directory (as on my comp) Give more precise information
