Is anybody using Google Desktop Search?

i honestly don't see the problem with Gmail.   All e-mail is scanned anyway.  If you have something private you don't want scanned, hand write it and hand deliver it ;0)

as for google's desktop search, microsoft have one due out soon

Can't ever remember searching for anything on my computer, I have everything nicely in their folders, so, doubt i would ever use such a feature

I have a tendency to save a lot of info on a separate hard drive and many times I can't remember just where some subject or file is.  I use these tools to solve this problem.  I can't get along without these!
