« on: February 26, 2011, 09:12:50 AM »
After today's definition updates through windows update, here are some messages I got (see attached screen shots).

I allowed sending of the files to Microsoft.

I am on Windows Pro x64.

I don't see the issue here? This is normal behaviour for WD when it doesn't have enough information about the SW. If you still have questions, they belong to MS guys.

If you combine malwarebytes with your avast you can disable defender because it's detection rate's are ptetty poor.

Thanks for the responses. It was on by default when Windows was installed and since I could not see much of a performance impact, I had left it running. And it was playing nice alongside avast!, until today when update installed new definitions.

I do have malwarebytes anti-malware, but only the free on-demand.

So what are the general views - disable defender? or leave it running?
