WebRep bar too large
« on: March 03, 2011, 01:32:32 PM »
I am using a 10.1" netbook, and find the WebRep bar far too large (IE plug-in). Why can't the plug-in be only a tool symbol that could be placed somewhere the user chooses. I'm sure all netbook users must feel the same, as about 1/4" of screen is lost because of the extra bar.

But... Isn't it a limitation of IE toolbars that couldn't be "merged" like in Firefox?

Yeah, Tech you're right. It's by design of IE. Maybe someone comes up with a great idea...

OK if that is the reason?
Will WebRep be available for Google?

I had the same problem and just dragged it to the menu bar, be sure to unlock tool bars first. Here is a photo of mine, is this what you want?

Also when you place your cursor over webrep you need to get the four way arrow, left click to get four way arrow then drag, then get the two way arrow on the left border line of webrep to drag it to the right to make it small like I did. Thought this might help.

Thanks for your help everyone, but in IE you can only drag it to the toolbar (if you have selected it, and therefore still have the same toolbar height (3 rows). I prefer only 2 rows so I get maximum page height.

You'll need to complain to MS. Maybe IE9 RC is less retarded and it can be moved next to address bar or whatever. I don't use IE so didn't test IE9.

Sorry but I had three rows with WebRep being a row to itself and made it into two rows with the menu bar and WebRep being on the same row. Look at the photo I showed in the post above.

Wonderful, just needs a couple of years... ;D

OT: The tabs are next to address bar by default or have you moved them?

IE9 did that.  8)

I would get rid of SRWare Iron 9.0.600.2+WOT and use IE9.

Oh well... with my usual 20-30 tabs open, the address bar would probably just display the http:// part of the URL - not really something that would fit my usage patterns.  ;D
