eggs and toast

cookies and milk

wine and cheese

meat and potatoes

beer and anything salty

These things are all good together.  And so it is with Avast! and Malwarebytes.

Over a year with both on my PC with no conflicts whatsoever.  You should have no problems.

No, both software can be used side by side.
MBAM paid or free version?

The one setting I do make with MBAM Pro is add the Avast temp directory to the MBAM Ignore List.
This makes MBAM ignore the files that Avast is unpacking to a temp folder while scanning.

Open MBAM Pro, click on the "Ignore List" tab.
Click the "Add" button, select this folder:
C:\Windows\Temp\_avast_
Click "OK", then click "Exit".
Done

Depending on your Avast version you may see one or both of these temp folders to add.
C:\Windows\Temp\_avast_
C:\Windows\Temp\_avast5_

There is no need to add any MBAM exclusions to Avast
