Memory check

hi, I'm a new user, and I'm trying avast 4 on my pc.
I think this is the best antivirus I've used, but I want to do a question.

Is possible to modify avast virus cleaner to be able to kill all the virus it found in memory and not only the wirus in the list?

If a virus is no more in memory it is to easy to remove whitout restart the computer for a dos scanning.
Ovviously the check is if the infected file is a windows program (like explorer.exe or svchost.exe ecc...) but in this case you can check if it is the original (looking the path)

You seem to be messing two applications: avast Virus Cleaner, a standalone application just to 'clean' an infection, and avast antivirus, the main program.

avast antivirus has residents (programs that stay in memory) and monitors your system. 'Inside' of it will be the feature of cleaning (the 'Virus Cleaner').

If a virus is not on memory you could run avast scanning to find the infected file, for instance. You don't need to go to DOS if you have Windows XP/2k because you could run the 'boot time' scanning of avast
