Outlook unable to check mail

Windows 7 Ultimate w/ all updates
Avast 6.0.1000
Virus Def 110413-1
MS Outlook 2010

I did a quick search and could not find anything related to this.

This morning after using Outlook for a few hours it for no reason it would error out. I would get the generic popup error box that reports

"Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC91) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your user name. Verify your user name for this account in Account Settings.  The server responded: -ERR no response from mail server'"

After much troubleshooting I found the problem is related to the Avast mail shield.

If I stop the shield, mail works fine. As soon as I enable it, the error comes back.

I have been using Avast for years, and v6 since is came out. Never ran in to this issue before.


Any ideas?

I,m not expert but I think you had problems with mail settings in Avast mail shield..you can wait for other help in Avast forum
