Safe Zone isn't meant to be your every day browser.
It's designed to keep you safe when you do your banking and shopping.  :)

Exactly and it will retain some things like bookmarks. It does not however remember to show the bookmarks bar. I have to do the ctrl-shift-b thing every time. If you exit safezone by clicking the green arrow without first closing the browser, it will not come back to your last viewed page either. I have found that you need to shut the browser down before leaving safezone to have any settings retained.

I close SafeZone first always! It does not save this settings: download path, disabling dictionaries and translation - default options restores after system reboot. After updates my start page changes also. I don`t use SafeZone for web-serfing, just for banking and for 1 bank, therefore I need invariable start page only.

Okay, you can't seem to change the home page but, if you set a page in the other option of open at startup, it works perfectly. I just did it with my banking page. It now goes right to that page when I switch to SafeZone.

1. Yes, my banking page opens first now, it works perfectly, but this page will reset when the next AIS update.
2. Some options lives until the next reboot - this is a bug!

Okay, I don't know if it will carry through after a program update or not but it's not that hard to get back again if it does.

I don't think it would be considered a bug but rather a security feature.
Since it's supposed to be totally isolated, it shouldn't retain anything.

its an idea about sandbox
so i test many malware links in virtual machine and i set avast sanbox root folder to c:\Avast Sandbox
but i have one problem/idea that pls make it's folder to apps insted or that long roots , (like comodo sandbox) which will be eay to find root or malwares instead of finding here and their .
eg. like i open a fake av in sandbox and in sandbox its open like = S-1-5-21-2096753758-3696289263-3866256260-1000/c/user/on and on

but my idea is =name of app/and then root folder
(hope you get my idea cuz i won't lol just kidding:) )

@Arsh de Grand, sandbox folder structure is little different than you posted

e.g. "C:\avast! sandbox\S-1-5-21-3817811509-1646742203-1511825224-1001\r4\notepad.exe_{11756c0a-6b6b-11e1-86fa-000c291c592b}\C\Windows\test.txt", where:
- S-1-5-21-3817811509-1646742203-1511825224-1001 is a SID, it's used to distinguish between current and other users (see $Recycle.Bin structure, it uses SIDs as well). If other sandboxes don't use SID (or other marker, they're not multi-user friendly)
- rXX (number) is a reboot counter, it helps sandbox to cleanup previous unused sandbox (webstorage/safezone or any other permanent sandbox doesn't use rXX folder, but own folder's name)
- notepad.exe_{guid} is process identifier; if you execute two notepad.exe processes, each of them must be in own sandbox (i.e. these two processes don't share their sandbox -- this is a difference betweeen e.g. avast sandbox and other sandboxes). You can create one sandbox for those 2 notepad.exe processes if you execute them from the parent's virtualized app (i.e. run cmd.exe in sandbox and then every child process uses the same sandbox, because the 1st notepad's parent is cmd.exe and 2nd notepad's parent is also cmd.exe).

EDITED: there will be "Access Control" sandbox settings in next avast version, it'll be used to mount sandbox structure as a new volume, it'll omit SIDs/rXX folders. Maybe it's what you what, actually.

@pk: have you seen my question and further comments about the sandbox mechanism, which I posted in the AutoSandbox Testtool thread, starting http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=76650.msg758333#msg758333? Please feel free to move my posts to this thread, if this is where it should be discussed.

Hi,
Using Safe Zone and making my payments through e-banking i can not print the bank receipts directly to HP Photosmart Printer All-in-one.
I can only save them as PDF files and only when i'm out of Safe Zone, and opening the saved file i can print them.
Any help will be welcomed.

Thanks a lot.

Well that is because the safezone is completely isolated from the standard desktop. The more exceptions to that the less secure things are.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Is has been 2 weeks now since my first comment. I heared from others that also Internet apps like TeamViewer don't work anymore. Just working with a white list does not seem to be the solution to this. What can I do to prevent this from happening?

I use an accounting software called Caseware on my home computer (for personal use) and lately, when I open one aspect of the program, I get a recommedation from AVAST that the file "CVWIN32.EXE" must be opened in sandbox. ON their website ( http://www.caseware.com/support/caseknowledge/antivirus-software ) Caseware suggests that I set my virus scanner to exclude selected Caseware files (please see the link) from being scanned. Is there a way to include these Caseware files in the safezone so that they are not being targeted by AVAST as potentially unsafe?

Now, I am selecting the "open normally" option when the sandbox notice comes up. Thanks

That seems strange because I can print with my Canon MP 250 from the Safe Zone without problems.
