Ubuntu studio avast installtion how to? Linux NOOB here.

I have Ubuntu studio (AMD-64 ver. 10.10) just installed last night. I am running a Compaq SR1650nx "Presario" with an AMD 64.

I need to install Avast now and I am a little stumped. I am very NEW to Linux. So this has been a learning experience.

Can anyone help and show me the best way to get avast working?


Now if I could only get my sound card working.....

Hallo,
on 64bit systems you must force the i386-architecture to the package installer (the system is capable of running such packages, but by default, only 64bit ones are recognised as "installable").

From commandline, it's just that simple:
