Avast BootUp Scan
« on: October 08, 2004, 12:50:35 PM »
An Avast  bootup scan produced the following mesage:

File C:Recycler\Nprotect\00000509.exe is infected by win32:sdBot-266 [ Trj ]

As I have a USB keyboard I can't delete the virus and it doesn't show on the virus scan in Windows. How can I delete this virus?

Can Avast be configured to automatically delete a virus during the bootup scan?

Hi,

- empty the trash, and also clear the trash from Norton-Protect
- also make SURE that you have all Windowsupdates applied
- best post here a hijackthis-Log for diagnosis: -> http://tomcoyote.org/hjt
- read the link "VirusRemoval" below in my sig  ;)

Hi,

Many thanks for your remarks. Those links should be quite useful.
