« on: May 13, 2011, 11:58:27 AM »
Greetings!

I have HP Proliant ML110 G6 running Windows server 2008 r2 foundation x64.
What kind of Avast should I use for it? Can I use Avast SB? How many licenses should i buy?

Thank You!

You have to use Avast 4.8 pro

Depending if you have clients you want to protect too, you should buy the needed ammount equal to the clients + server.

What other services you need to protect?
Exchange 2010? Sharepoint 2010? in this case, dont buy nothing since the 4.8 client doesnt support them
Exchange 2007 and lower, sharepoint 2007 and lower?  there are plugins for it

there is a targetted date for releasing Avast v6 end of june tho, maybe you can get a trial license for 4.8 for 2 months from your local reseller and then step up to v6 and buy the actuall licenses IF the SBC doesnt get posponed again

Hi,

To protect your server you should use avast NetServer (Generated from ADNM) or if you more prefer for standalone solution you may use avast! 4 server edition.

Then to protect your clients, you can use avast NetClient (Generated from ADNM) or avast! 4 Professional edition/ avast Pro version 6.0/ avast Internet Security version 6.0 if you interest to use standalone solutions instead of managed solution.

Meanwhile for SBC (Small Business Console) according to AVAST team recommendation, only eligible for company whose implemented to coverage only 200 users maximum. If you have a planning to protect more than 200 users, we more keep prefer your corporate still using ADNM till the new version of ADNM released.

Hopefully my and WPN information could solving your confused to use avast antivirus solutions.
