it is truly a shame that the us government has piled up so much debt, and the people in the congress still have not struck down a deal on what to cut.

Here is a plan suggested by 2012 presidential Candidate Ron Paul
http://attka.com/2011/07/31/ron-paul-to-congress-we-owe-1-6-trillion-to-the-federal-reserve-but-thats-not-real-debt/
It is not possible to divide anything by zero

Isn't that unfunded liabilities stack nice to look at ( :P ), the mountain of tax dollars people paid in that are simply gone before they ever paid in, when they are supposed to be there waiting when they are needed.

It is our job to hold them accountable, Bob.  You can try and blame the politicians, but really, we elect these wishy-washy wimps who wont take a hard stand on anything because thats how we like it.  Much like if children were to elect a nanny for day care, who would they choose?

I used to get irritated at global perceptions of my country as spoiled children driving an expensive yacht around a bay, with no regard to the wake they created and how it affected others.  But the proof is undeniable.  It is a pretty sad example we set with such behavior.

Bob,

You're wrong!  Uncle Sam should have learned to live within it's means many years ago.

Please let's not turn this into a political debate.
If that's where we're headed, then please let someone lock this thread NOW.  :)

The currency of my country is linked with the dollar. So, you guy's inflation is carried down here. I blame your government for it :P

What I mean was 'Pegged with the dollar'

This could give some light from the perspective of someone living in the GCC

The food prices here have risen tremendously...and the government even raised prices of petrol although this is an oil producing country.

Total economic confusion is about to hit Europe.

Japan will be next, then the USA & Canada.

The rest of the world will fall like dominos.

When Europe falls the USA will try to shore up it's economy,

but it will backfire.  Near panic decisions will be made.

Welcome to the next Great Depression, bigger & deeper than the 1930's.
