How to restore Outlook express inbox file from chest?
« on: November 02, 2004, 04:25:41 AM »
Hi!
During a scan, avast told me I had a virus in my inbox.dbx file (my outlook express inbox) and so I sent it to the chest. When I opened my outlook express all my messages were gone! I went to the chest and moved it back to the outlook folder but nothing happened! How do I fix this????? Thanks so much! :-\

Use the import function in OE. It is under the file menu if I recall corectly.

Close Outlook Express.
Take note of the name of the 'empty' inbox file (maybe inbox.dbx).
Delete it.
Restore the old from Chest to the same folder.
Rename it with the name of the deleted (inbox.bdx), if needed.
Open Outlook Express.
