windows was not shut down properly?
« on: September 07, 2011, 05:55:34 PM »
Hi, since updating to ais 6.0.1289. each time I turn pc off, performance monitor says the last shut down was unexpected. another AV used to do this as it remained the last service running, but this has only started happening since I upgraded last night?
any ideas please?
just reread the logs it was when avast asked for reboot after updating, its listed 3 times but all same time, so I guess it's ok

We need to know what operating system you are using & did you have any other antivirus on the computer before avast was installed??, nortons and macafees have full removal tools for getting rid of remains of the programs etc.

@stitt,

Disconnect any optional devices, close any optional program and:

Add/Remove programs -> avast -> change -> REPAIR.

Once the repair finishes, reboot (avoid running anything else before rebooting, and that includes trying to update avast's database).

Please report back.
