Lovsan virus

Hi all,

Watch out for the lovsan virus!! this virus go in your computer and now friday or saturday it gonna attack microsoft! how simple: every computer with this virus help the owner of the virus to attack microsoft.
This virus was yesterday on the news on tv(belgium).

ps: in Belgium only are more then thousand people with this virus!

I wonder  of Avast! dectect this virus?

Yes, avast! detects this worm.
However, since the worm isn't spread by e-mail, it's quite hard for an antivirus to stop it from penetrating a vulnerable computer. Maybe switching on "Scan created/modified files" in Standard Shield might help a little - but still a part of the worm would be already active in memory when this alert pops up.
Shortly, the only real cure is applying the corresponding Microsoft security patch.

For starters, it's worth noting that Lovsan is just another name for Win32.Blaster (and in it's unpacked form also sometimes identified as Rpc-Exploit by avast) which has been already discussed several times on this forum during the last few days...
