Conflicting Programs

Hey guys & gals,
I have downloaded the lastest & greatest version of this marvellous program.
Problem - my previosly installed antivirus will not be entirely deleted. There remains one persistant segment of the old program that will not be deleted. Ive tried lots of different ways of deletion, by to no avail.  :'(.
It keeps coming up as "access denied, program is either write protected or disc is full"
I am using XP, and the ext file is DLL.
I hope this is enough info. for someone to assist/ help.

the name of it is NAVSHEXT.DLL 8.0.7.17 Norton AntiVirusNavShellextModule.

I have just read a previous post regarding the same thing. I have used the utilities tool link. And it seemed to have worked. Although I have NOT yet rebooted PC to check yet.

As I can see, you already used Symantec cleanning tools... Am I right?
Maybe you should run a Registry cleanning tool too (some suggestions on Links in my signature). Hope this helps.
