How to run Avast on Linux?

I've just bought a new computer which uses Linux (the most recent version). I'm used to Windows!

I've downloaded Avast (for use with Linux) but can't find it anywhere. It is installed (found using search) but can't figure out how to run it

Help?

Which Linux do you have? Ubuntu, Mint?

Some will say you don't.
Some will say it's better an on demand scanner than stay without anything.
I have avast in my Ubuntus installation, but I run it very rarely.
