Hi,

I have been told not to release any new features/notable changes/fixes and do a release with internal changes only. So there is not much to say about the release from user point of view :(

Filip

Very strange, whilst google play when you go to update would surely have what's new/changed in this update would it not ?

I'm not that curious so I didn't check the google play update details for avast mobile security when I updated it.

Nope, you'll find only the old news there.

Hi,

you are going to see a new version on Google Play soon (2.0.3917), it only contains new virus definitions since it seems that the previous one resulted in FPs in some companies that use our product which are having internal troubles with definitions updates. So they asked us to release a new version on Google Play with FPs fixed which we did. You won't find anything new in the product itself.

Sorry there is no direct line as far as I'm aware, Google Play or whatever location you got avast from Amazon or other tablet site, etc.

Filip, won't the virus definitions update zolve it? I mean, would it require a program update? Why doesn't avast update the data base right after the installation and before the first scanning?

So two updates which do not benefit the personal consumer one bit. Ah well 3rd time lucky perhaps.

I don't see it like that, for a start it is helping those who do have a problem. Not to mention if you look at the difference in the build number it seems to be more than just a fix for an FP.

No it's helping companies not personal users. I take your build number statement on board but to counter that none of that is visible to the end user. I stand by my original statement as nothing that has happened directly add features or add any added value (to the personal user apart from the pain of updating of course). Internally sure changes have been made which was the reason one update occurred. This update was for a totally different reason.  Maybe I should change my original comment to 2 updates no new features. Am I having a little moan? Maybe. When it's all said and done does it really matter? Not really just thought it needed to be said.

If you had to pay for this, I might see your point. Since you're getting this for free, what is there to complain about ??? ???

Lol I knew someone would come up with that old chestnut! It's free so we should put up with things like this. No! So in your mind somebody gives you a cake for free of course. In that cake are ants and all kinds of crap but you eat it anyway because it's free. Now the same thing applies but you bought it from a shop you would go back to the shop and make a lot of noise yes? Point over!

P.S. Personally I would make noise in both cases why? Well in the case of the cake I am expected to eat it. In the case of software use it. I feel sorry for people that accept second best because things are free. As the song goes the best things in life are free. Which I agree with up to a point.

Song quoted was by Janet Jackson and Luther Vandross.

Hi,

it does, but as I said, it seems that they are (were) having some internal issues with definitions updates (not really related to the app itself) so the definitions were not being updated before the first scan. They might have been, for example, blocking access to sites outside their country and we have update servers all over the world causing the update to fail. But that's just a wild guess.
