I have installed the latest free version of avast and comodo(FW/D+)and I find my downloading softwares and on-line games are extremely affected. So I want to know whether I should uninstall the network protection part since it's function is similar to firewall.

Hi,

I do use avast! FREE + Comodo (FW/D+) on another PC. But there is no issues @ all. I hope you have restarted your PC after installing security softwares. Did you try disabling avast or Comodo to see which affects on downloading or on-line games? Or you can try adding Comodo and avast to respective exclusion lists.

BTW let us know your O/S and what additional security softwares on your PC.

Cheers...

Short answer is no, try setting exclusions between avast and comodo which should enable the system to run lighter.

Nothing else. I have just installed avast and comodo.

Have you been using any antivirus or security tools before avast and comodo? Do you have any pre-installed security tools?

Both types of situations require from you to uninstall older / prior security tools and also to run the respective removal utilities for each such prior security tools. Partial list located at http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/.

Network Shield is not a firewall.
Something is bad interacting with avast, probably some Comodo feature? ???
