Avast with Mac Mail
« on: January 16, 2012, 09:51:38 AM »
The avast mail shield keeps on bringing up a message saying SSL/TLS connection detected, and it can't scan it. This may be a problem of Mail instead of avast, but does anyone know what I need to do in the settings to rectify this?

you can turn off the notification.....
or you can configure  your mail client so avast can scan you mail....

for avast to scan mail accounts that use SSL, you must remove tha SSL settings in your mail client and let avast do the SSL connection

avast! 6.x: Some e-mails are not scanned by the Mail Shield

You need to disable the SSL settings in your email client, and have them enabled in avast. So avast takes over the SSL layer that your email client took care before, and avast then is able to scan your emails.
