Question about Maintenance setting

This question is about Avast! Free version 6.0.1367 running on XP Pro SP2:

Can someone please tell me what the following setting is for and what the results will be of having it checked and unchecked?  Neither the Help file nor the "Learn More" link explain it.  Thanks:

I'm the rare American that doesn't buy into the whole "credit system", so I don't use this, couldn't tell you for certain.

Clearly, he/she missed it, probably because of the dust that was piling up on it from never getting used.

But you're right that the OP should update to SP3 (on a 32Bit XP).

I can't remember why I was told that I can't upgrade to SP3 on my two SP2 machines (and I have no interest in learning why or spending more time trying to solve it - these machines are bound for the recycling center once I can afford to upgrade).

The only reason would be a non legit XP or a 64Bit XP.
