Can't open Secunia PSI since installing Avast! Pro.
« on: January 30, 2012, 04:13:06 AM »
Secunia will open but only for about a second, then it closes.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled the latest version.  Still can't open it.  Never had a problem with Secunia before installing Avast! Pro.

Strange... I never has this issue and use Secunia PSI in quite some computers with different settings...
Which is your Windows? Any other program that could interfere? Did you contact Secunia support?

I'm using Windows XP, SP3.  Maybe SP3 is the problem, as I installed it very recently (1/20/12), because it was required in order to create a "virtual private network" to let me access files from home that are stored on my network drive at work.  (I work at a university that uses Windows XP and stores My Documents on a network drive.) I went to the Secunia forum page but didn't see any way to ask about the problem.

I rather doubt that it is SP3 that is the problem as some time ago I had Secunia PSI installed, but in all honesty I don't think it is necessary. I just go on the secunia site occasionally and use the OSI (On-line Security Inspection).
