email warning in Outlook express
« on: December 03, 2004, 10:40:53 PM »
Hi,
I just switched from AVG and got the new Avast 4.5.549.
My wife has winxp and Outlook Express.
She keeps getting Potentially Dangerous Warnings an Iframe was detected. She belongs to Yahoo groups and is friends with the senders and knows they are safe.
Is there a setting for adjustments?
Thanks,
Glenn

Glenn,

Are you referring to Newsgroups, or Email???

You can try setting the Internet Mail sensitivity to Normal and the Standard Shield as well.

Unfortunately, in the Home version, there is no "approved" list that you can add Yahoo onto.

IFrames are potentially malicious and that is why Avast detects them and warns you of them.

Hi, ::)

I looked at the link for Clariondeveloper and it gives a very clear visual description of how to disable Navigate sub-frames across different domains. I have W98, Internet Explorer6 and Outlook Express6.

I am getting these Iframe warnings that people are discussing on this forum at the moment. I am getting them when I send emails with links or pages from websites.

Could you please explain what effect disabling this facility will have on my sending and receiving emails please.

Will I still be able to send pages from a website if I have this disabled?

Thank You :D
