So Proud Avast Understands NOTHING Is Unhackable!!!
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:49:53 PM »
In todays world, there are tons of OS's out there.  There are varying versions built on Open Source code; which I still support as far as free to use software.  However, to much faith is put blindly into some of these open-source solutions.  Android is a great example.

It is partially built on a *nux type build (linux, unix, chrome, etc.)  While in the past this was relatively awesome and safe, we must grow up and understand that not all criminal orginazations are as inept as we hope they are.  It really is time to appreciate, yes I said appreciate, the fact that some of the more organized criminal element knows that most of us keep much of our lives on these devices that utilize these 'open-source' depositories.   As well as on our PC's that maybe dont use them.  They also know that most of them suggest putting these external devices in our DMZ on our router... an area that bypasses any firewall or SPI (stateful packet Inspection) methods assigned to said routers.

To think that these organized criminal elements ARE NOT involved as "trusted contributors" in these builds is to highly under estimate their drive to take what is not theirs.  I was so excited, after many discussions with my physical friends, when Avast released a product for Andriod that not only maintained a malware scanning method, but also anti-virus AND a firewall.  It seems that maybe their team (Avast) is understanding the fact that crimnals are going to do whatever they can to complete their job of taking our things.

Thank you for not being to closed minded to understand this Avast Team!  My only hopes now is to see Avast involved in some of the other devices I use such as game consoles, smart TV's, and other 'internet intelligent' devices.  Some of these trust only the fact that they 'think' its unhackable.  One only needs to look at last year to understand thats just not the case any longer.  Sadly, I say this as an open-source developer, the main systems that were hit over the past year ALL ran Linux, yet were treated as though they were still on Windows 95.

The actual Linux Foundation was hacked as well:

And of course the ones who set a new record for most records breached all ran *nux servers, underestimating the determination of criminals:

***Im not here to argue who was behind this attack, but the fact the consumer records were attacked and stolen, later found being traded/sold demonstrates it wasnt as straight forward as a group claiming to be about protecting consumers from big business tactics.  Logic is logic,.. sorry.

Please update the Linux build of Avast to incorporate 64 bit builds, if you havent already.  Id like to get back on Linux as it helps me stay versed in coding myself.  If possible contact manufactures like Microsoft and Sony about their game consoles (I know they are a bit stubborn but can Avast try) and see if there is anyway Avast can start helping the end-users and not just the company here.

With all that being said, again...  THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING HOW FAR CRIMINALS WILL TRY TO GO FOR OUR INFORMATION!!!

I will actually be excited to get a smart phone now!
