Avast on access slow at system startup
« on: December 16, 2004, 09:27:33 AM »
Hi,

Since the last few days when i start up my system "avast on access" is very slow.

I have windows 2000 here and fully updated. When i start it up it all runs good and i see all the icons. After that is done. Avast on access need about 2 more minuts before it finally starts working. I never had that with avast so now i wonder why it is like that? (same problem on my girlfriends pc)

Is there any solution to get it working faster without that long time?

For the rest avast is working nicely. So keep up the good work!

This has something to do with mapi initialization (as vlk discovered) in standard shield module, it will be fixed in the next build.

Positive, welcome to forums...
Besides the solution that pk posted, you can take a look into Startup Delayer functions (http://www.r2.com.au)  ;)
